South Bay Accent strives for content that is accurate, informative and relative to our audience. We publish material that matches the interests and needs of our readers, and strongly believe in the principals of editorial integrity. We use only original content, and writers are responsible for confirming all facts before submitting their work. Editorial content is determined and developed by an editorial board and is not contingent on advertising.
The magazine maintains a list of experienced freelance writers who provide broad-based feature stories on a variety of topics. Those interested in being placed on the list are invited to submit no more than three published writing samples, along with a resume and cover letter outlining any specific fields of interest or expertise. No phone calls, please.
Articles usually run from 1,500 to 2,500 words; payment varies. We do not accept unsolicited manuscripts, however, detailed, well researched pitches for story ideas will be considered. Potential freelancers should make a point of becoming familiar with the magazine’s style and its content by reading past issues.
Among general topics covered by South Bay Accent are: food and entertaining, family and parenting, health and fitness, home and garden, technology, travel, education, beauty, environment, business and finance and women’s issues.
